Writing Assignment

Five years ago, my youngest sister Kamryn passed away due to child neglect. She was my entire world; there was never a moment that passed when she wasn't in my arms, on my hip or standing right beneath me. When she passed away my entire life took a 360 turn and was completely flipped upside down. Losing her was the hardest thing that I have ever had to encounter but it has definitely changed my life and me personally on a whole new level. Just when I think the tides are too strong, when I can no longer breathe because my head is under water drowning, when I think I can no longer swim; I think about her and the pain she endured as well as the pain that everyone including myself went through during her passing. I tell myself "this ain't nothing" and I get back up ten times stronger than I was before. One of my good friends once told me to “live life as if it were like riding a wave, no matter what happens you ride it and when you fall you get back up and take on the next one.” This all relates to this photo because as each day passes and I encounter new obstacles I look back on the situations I have already surpassed and I think about my sister who is my strength and I remind myself of every reason I have to keep going.
